I love this name yet I don’t think I could name a child this because of modern associations with the word “gay” (it tends to be pronounce GAY-us in my region). I also love Gaye, Gaylord, Guy and other similar names but won’t use them for the same reason. Too many recent cultural associations. I don’t want my kid bound by that.
