Not bad for a nickname.

Although a LOT better than Gabriel, it rhymes with "babe", apparently.

I love it! So much better than Gabriel, and in fact, I prefer this as a full name! To me it just ages better, is more cute and formal, and would fit a boy better than Gabriel.

Gabe is a nice nickname for Gabriel. Personally, I have a character for an animated TV show I want to make and his nickname is Gabe, although his full name is João Gabriel Romão-Marques do Pinheiro (He’s Brazilian). João Gabriel is such a beautiful name for my character, he’s a magical boy and João means God is gracious, while Gabriel means God is my strength, and his name meaning refers to the fact that god gives him grace and strength. Overall, great nickname for an already great name.

Better then Gabby for a boy.

My boyfriend's name is Gabriel, I call him Gabe for short. I think it sounds so sweet and gentle, although I would not opt to name my child this as a name, only as a nickname. To be honest, it is a lot better and not so frilly and feminine like Gabby - ugh.

Hehe I love this nickname! I think it's sweet and adorable. As far as being a full name, that wouldn't be a good idea because it could get dull after a while. I think it's best because in case they don't like "Gabe" they can go by their full name and vice-versa.
