Fritz Kobus, a wealthy landowner, is the main character in the opera 'L'amico Fritz' by Pietro Mascagni, premiered in 1891 from a libretto by P. Suardon (Nicola Daspuro) (with additions by Giovanni Targioni-Tozzetti), based on the French novel 'L'ami Fritz' by Émile Erckmann and Pierre-Alexandre Chatrian.
Fritz Jean is a notable Haitian economist, politician and writer who served as governor of the Banque de la République d'Haïti from 1998 until 2001. Since 2012, he is the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Professions of the Nord-Est Department, and is part of the national commemoration committee of the 100-year anniversary of the United States occupation of Haiti.
