This is my boyfriend's name. It's quite common here in Argentina, I think I've met like five of them in my life. I don't like it so much, I wouldn't recommend it, I know it sounds powerful but there is no depth in it.

Love this name! Especially when pronounced with a rolled 'r'.

In the same category of names like "Hitler", "Stalin", "Mussolini", "Zedong", etc.: impossible to separate from a brutal dictator.

Franco sounds like an interesting substitute for the common name (at least here in the U.S.A.) of Francis. If one thinks this name would suit a future child then by all means use it and enjoy!

If it weren't for Francisco Franco, I would like it. The sound is okay, but it has the same feel as Pinochet or Mussolini or something because of the dictator.

I love this name. It's strong and has an international feel to it. I prefer it 100 times more than Francisco or Francesco. It can be shortened to Frank or Franky too, cute nicknames.

I don't like this name. All I can think of is that monster General Franco. I'd expect his brothers to be called Adolf and Benito.
