A nice name with a simple meaning. And one that really is translated from another language, without any complications over the meaning, since not all names originate from actual words, and can be just historically made up out of nowhere. (Think of the quote from Alice in Wonderland, 'must a name mean something?' For instance.
I honestly think "Lisa" is a decent nickname for Felicity. Sounds outdated now, but names come in and out of style. By the time your kids or grandkids have this name, Lisa might be unique and fashionable! Lovely name with a great meaning.
I don't always like word names, but I kind of like this one.
I LOVE this name. I just love it! Its meaning is beautiful, and it also sounds and looks beautiful! Lissy is a really cute nickname for it as well.
I love it it's so pretty and it's a way better name than Felicia.
Felicity dee dee dee. It sounds like a name of a bird, I like the name but maybe not on a human.
This is a very beautiful name with a nice meaning.
This is a very pretty name and is way prettier than Felicia in my opinion.
This is my name, AND I COULDN'T LOVE IT MORE! It's such a pretty name, I've even thought of possibly naming my daughter this, even though I don't like it when children have the same name as one of their parents. If you are thinking of naming your daughter this, DO IT!
Felicity seems to have gotten more popular recently, but when I was younger I was basically the only one, and people ALWAYS liked my name! No one has ever made fun of my name, and the nicknames are honestly kind of cute. I was called Fissy and Fiss, and even now, I still push for my friends to call me by them.
It means happiness, and it always gave me something to live up to...especially whenever I was sad. The name Felicity SOUNDS like smiles, flowers, butterflies, and rainbows!
Beautiful name, I'm telling you!
So preeeeettty!
There are many wonderful nicknames that come with this beautiful name. Several like: Fissy, Fiss, Lissie, City, Fliss, Felly, Fellis, and Felix. It's a cute name, and if you like to give your kids nicknames, it's a great choice. On top of that, it means happiness, so it gives them something to live up to. Great for a kid, and great for an adult. Love it!
Felicity is a pretty name.
Gorgeous and sparkly!
Felicity is a giant nerd but is really kind.
I love the name Felicity. It is so elegant and classic. It has a lovely meaning and it’s not too common. It’s on my list for my future daughter :)
I like this name. Like Hope and Faith, this is one of the few Puritan Virtue names still in use today.
This is my name, and I have always loved it. I go by my full name because that is what my parents intended me to be named, and I wouldn't have it any other way. When people call me nicknames like Fliss I always correct them. The only nickname I have is from my best friend, she calls me Felix because its like a male version of my name. I always loved my name and I get compliments on it almost every time I introduce myself.
So beautiful, and has a rich, layered history. On the surface, it is light, happy and bright. It is also an elegant, feminine name associated with the Victorian era. And it is an ancient Roman name — in fact, Felicity is one of the six women whose name is spoken every Sunday in the Mass.
This is one of the most beautiful names, in its meaning, sound and spelling. My generation will always associate it with the character who infamously chopped off her hair, but it's the name of a martyr who is celebrated alongside another martyr, St. Perpetua.
This name is super cute!
Under-appreciated name in my opinion. It’s beautiful and I also love the meaning. I also adore the nickname Fliss and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t usually care much for nicknames.I’d happily, pun intended, use it for a daughter.
Felicity is okay, it reminds me of a cheerleader.
My name is Felicity, and I like it tbh. Funny thing is that I never really had any nickname. People tried a lot but it never stuck. My middle name is Charlotte.
This is my sister's name, and she goes by "City".
I think this name is so cute and the nickname Lissie is adorable. I would go all out girly with this name and go with Felicity Antoinette.
It's unique and all but it doesn't flow off the tongue, I can see myself being tongue tied when I say this name.
I love the meaning and spelling of this name. Very pretty.
Felicity is a beautiful name!
I just love the nickname Fliss and this name is cute. It’s the name of my favourite character in a book Felicity “Fliss” in Room 13 by Robert Swindells, it’s one of my childhood favourites.
I do not like this name at all, as it is the middle name of Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus (used to watch that but hate it now). Even worse is that when the show got its Netflix reboot which introduced a younger sister, they (surprise) gave her the same middle name! That was enough for me.
This is one of my favorite names. In years past I preferred Felicia, due to both having a friend by that name and strongly disliking the TV show "Felicity." (That last season, phew! It was like the show runners decided their true calling was writing unauthorized "X-Files" episodes!) In any event, more recently Felicia has been memed (is that a word?) to death, so this made me take a second look at Felicity. And I realized... it's beautiful. It's one of the only names I like with a -y ending (or even a long-E ending; most of my favorites end in -a or -ine). It's also an English word, even though it's a little fancy for non-poetical use. It's elegant but not too soft. And the nickname Fliss is cute. I love Felicity.
Nice name! It reminds me of Felicity Smoak from the Arrow.
Very sweet name that fits all ages ;)
I love the name "Felicity". It has a little aura of mystique, possesses a precious quality to suit all ages, and simply sounds beautiful.
I love this name as it suits all ages, but it can get shortened to Flick.
My friend is called Felicity and I do quite like the name. Here is my personal impression of it:F for fantastic
E for energetic
L for lively
I for incredible
C for colourful
I for I love to eat
T for terrific
Y for yayyyyyyyyy
My daughter was born 2017 and is Felicity Charlotte. We call her Fliss or Lissy and she calls herself Cissy (She's 22 months old).
Felicity is my favorite name for a girl at the moment along with the name Olivia. I think the combination Felicity Marie sounds really good too.
My name is Felicity, and people usually call me Felix or Flick for short.
This is really pretty! It has a great meaning too. The sound of it is just- musical, I guess. Also, it's not too popular, if that's what floats your boat.
Absolutely adorable. I love it.
Pretty name! Although Felicia is prettier in my opinion.
I like the name Felicity. It's interesting & nice to pronounce. It feels like an older name than what it actually is which adds to it being interesting. I think it loses its touch when it's shortened to nicknames though.
I feel like this name sounds country, but also a good name too.
My name is Felicity. I would be wary about naming a child with this name, only because growing up I found the name to be quite old-timey. It was a name that I would have expected an old person to be called. However, as I've grown and matured, I've grown more and more fond of the name. The old-fashioned vibe of this name however, is also something to be considered before naming your child. I have gone by many nicknames including, Fel, Feli, Fliss, Flick, Lissy, Flissy and even Felici. It is a name that is very easy to make nicknames out of.
I've never heard this name before until now, and I think it's pretty ugly to be honest. I think of facility when I hear it. Such an odd name.
My daughter's name is Felicity! I chose this name Because when I found out I was pregnant I was overwhelmed with happiness! Waited 16 years for her! Her nickname she has and loves is City!
What better name than this, especially if it's not commonly used nowadays! A very family-loving, joyous, zest for life, strong willed, as well as being mature, girl, would bear this name! Perfect for a baby girl, p.s. Also reminds me of the Felicity Wishes (Fairy) Books!
I love this name, it's so pretty!
I love this name, and I'm surprised I haven't commented on it yet. It sounds beautiful and has a variety of nicknames, and it flows well with many middle names. I love the combo Felicity Jaiden.
I love this name, cause in Latin, it means "the happy one" or "to be filled with happiness".
It sounds like a joke name, like Inglebert or something. Really not nice.
I had a Felicity doll, so I really like this name. I'd probably call her Χαρά, (Greek for joy), because any kid I have would have to have a Greek name, and I have several cousins called Χαρά. It's not a common name in Greek, and they mostly anglicize to Joy, but Felicity is just so lovely and the meanings are close enough.
Felicity has recently made it onto my favourites list for girls. It's just completely gorgeous and feminine without being too cutesy. It ages well and has an abundance of great nicknames- Fee, Lissy, Elle, et cetera.
Felicity is a pretty name. I've always liked it. Whenever I think of someone named Felicity, I think of this bright, cheery girl (also I think of the AG doll, but whatever), which is coincidental since the name means "happiness". It's a pretty name for little girls, and you can shorten it to Lissie or something.
I just love this name! When I finally have kids this would be one of their names. I only know one other person with this name and I heard a mom call for her daughter with this name so I don't think it's too common yet. It's classy and it can be used for when the girl is older and younger.
Very nice name, sounds just what it means "happiness".
Extremely cute name. The combination Felicity Joy is corny though.
Omg, it's so cute. It's grown on me.
I think Felicity is an adorable name. It even SOUNDS like happiness. This might be a bad description but it is "frilly and bouncy" a very childish name. I can't help it but this name brings a smile to my face.
YAY! This is my name! I don't really think it fits me, but still I like it. It is a very unusual name. I have, however, met two other Felicity's in my life.
I think this name is absolutely gorgeous I would definitely name my kid this.
I love this name! If I had a daughter, I think this would be the top name on my list. It means happiness, and everyone wants their kid to be happy, right? It seems to be rather uncommon, so it would be seem unique without being a made up name. It can be sophisticated for an adult, or a beautiful name for a young girl too. It's feminine and when I think of it I think of a shy and kind young girl who is creative. It is an old fashioned name, but I think it's much better then some older names, and you don't automatically think of an old lady. It is very hard to tease this name and there probably wouldn't be anyone by this name in your class.
I think this name is a lovely-sounding name. I think it sounds youthful and full of life, but could also work on somebody older, I suppose. But yes, and overall a very lovely, regal-sounding name.
This name is so pretty and it has a nice ring to it. On top of that it has the best meaning ever! Happiness! I might consider naming my future daughter Felicity Joy.
A beautiful name, very easy to grow up with and has a great variety of nicknames. My best friend's sister is named this, and she's called Floss or Flick, which I think is adorable.
I love the name Felicity. It's so pretty and feminine, and it's not too popular. I'd definitely use this in the future, let's just hope it doesn't get too popular. :)
This is a pretty name, but it sounds like facility.
The name may be quite commonly used on baby girls today, but it sounds very old-fashioned. Plus, the name is quite sappy and corny, and it's a bit cutesy as well, so I wouldn't want to use it. Many people would assume the TV series inspired you, and that tends to create a rather unflattering impression.
In one of my favorite novels (which I read at the age of eleven and made a strong impression on me), most of the female characters were described as being beautiful. Except the character of Felicity, who was described as having "an extraordinary similarity to the back end of a tram." Ever since, I associate this name with a physically unattractive woman. I know it's not fair, but I can't get it out of my head.
This is such a great name - both classy and spunky at the same time! The American Girl Doll of the same name left a lasting impression of what this name means to me. So whenever I hear Felicity I think of a headstrong carrot-top who has a strong sense of right and wrong.
Felicity is such a pretty name. It makes me want to smile. I adore the nickname Lissy. I think that Felicity and Allegra would make great names for twins.
I love this name. Whenever I think of it, I always think of happy things. Heh. If I ever have a daughter, I might consider naming her this.
When you say the name Felicity, it sounds like "facility" and "electricity". I think that it is a really good name to remember words (e.g. FACILITY, ELECTRICITY) by.
Just hearing the name makes me happy. It's really pretty and makes me think of a really fun-to-be-with person.
Felicity sounds happy and, looks happy, and means happiness! It makes me think of butterflies! I will certainly consider this name when I have a daughter because it's beautiful in a fun way. It also looks lovely on paper. Lissy is a cute nickname, too!
Felicity is a great name for a girl, very pretty and easy to grow up with. I like the meaning of this name also.
I guess I'm weird but every time I hear the name Felicity I think of the word infidelity. So to me, it's a name for girls with 'questionable morals'.
I love the name Felicity, and I would consider using this name if I had a daughter. I think this name is beautiful, classy and sophisticated, and I like that it’s not overly used. I think Lis or Lissy would be a good nickname for Felicity.
Felicity is a very beautiful name.It makes me think of butterflies, if you get what I mean.
The name just sounds happy.
This name means happiness. What more could you want?
I think this name is pretty, and I'm surprised about how under-used it is. I've read many books that were published thirty to seventy years ago that were dedicated to young children named Felicity.
