This name is not pronounced EE-vee, only EV-ee. I think the spelling makes the pronunciation quite clear (Evie is EE-vee, Evvie is EV-ee; like Edie is EE-dee and Eddie is ED-ee). I think this name is soft and sweet-sounding, but a teasing nickname is "Heavy Evvie" which could be devastating if the bearer is in fact overweight.
