This name sounds a little bit too serious, maybe even too harsh. Rare name, barely used these days. Name is alright, just maybe too hard for a young person.

In my opinion, Erma sounds nicer when it is pronounced EHR-mə, with the short "e" in "bet". UR-mə doesn't sound appealing to me.

This is one of the ugliest old-fashioned names I've encountered. The sound is simply terrible.
