I've never heard of Enola Gay. But I love Enola Holmes, and this name sounds very pretty.

It's pretty. I like Enola Holmes and I also liked the movie "Waterworld" in which a main character is named Enola.

It's really pretty and I don't mind it being alone backwards.

My name is Enola. Given to me by my dad, he actually didn't name me after Enola Gay. He named me after the little girl Enola from the 1995 film Waterworld. Which can be embarrassing. It also sounds like ebola, AND is "alone" backwards. But I've learned to be prideful of my name. I think it's pretty, despite everything.

My mother loved the name Enola Gay and named me after the airplane. I have hated it all my life, because very few people can say it right. I go by Nola.

My name is Enola Gay & yes, I was named after the B29 bomber in WW2. THIS act helped to end WW2 & saved more lives that would have been lost if the war continued! I love my name! I think that it is unique, especially in the U.K. I always get comments on my name from people and I always tell them that my dad got the name from Enola Gay! I have always thought that spelled backwards, its meaning stands for You And God Alone.

Hi there. My name is Enola. I was named after my grandmother, who was born in India in 1934. The Enola Gay and Hiroshima did not happen until 1945. So uh... if you wanna be jerks and say that it's a horrible name because of its association, that's fine, but consider that the name was around BEFORE that happened. The plane was actually named after the pilot's mother.

Besides sounding too old-fashioned even for me, I'd never use this name because of the horrific association with the Enola Gay. People remember the name of the plane because it's such an unusual name.

I seriously doubt many people would get offended because someone was named Enola, just because the plane that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima was called Enola Gay. Most young people today wouldn't even know that was the name of the bomber plane. I definitely think of an anagram of "alone" and that girl from Waterworld.

My cousins name is Enola and I used to think it was really weird and unusual. I have grown to like it and now I know what she was named after, the bombing in Hiroshima. I think it is original as I only know one Enola. And also cute.

No offense to anyone named this, but I think it would be horrible to share your name with Enola Gay, the plane from which the atomic bomb was dropped over Hiroshima! Brrr!

What a terrible name. Who could ever use it after the Enola Gay? I'm not a big fan on swearing off usage of names forever, but I can't see touching this name after Hiroshima. It's not exactly something you get over.
