The Welsh alt-rock band Manic Street Preachers had a song called "Enola/Alone" on their album "Everything Must Go." MSP bassist Nicky Wire later named his daughter Clara Enola.
Besides the name of the mother of B-29 pilot Paul Tibbets, in the alternate form "Inole", it is the name of a 19th century Cherokee healer and tribal official who lived on the Qualla Reservation in the late 1800s. His papers were translated by Cherokee scholar Jack Frederick Kilpatrick and provide valuable insights into life among the Eastern Cherokee during the era after the Trail of Tears and Civil War. "Inole", possibly referring to either a person or the animal, sometimes appears in the name of a street or road, particularly in areas formerly occupied by the Cherokees.
