Meaning & History
Possibly from Greek ἐνηδύνω (enedýno) meaning "to cheer, to gratify". This was the name of an early Christian saint from Sardinia, known as Henedina in Latin; she was martyred with Saints Justa and Justina in the year 130 AD. This name has also been documented in Medieval Basque in Navarre, and according to local folklore this name belonged to the most beautiful woman in the shire of Sakana.
