In 2018, 3 is the most common age for an American (U.S.) Emanuel who is registered male with the Social Security Administration. It is the 1, 044th most common male first name for living U.S. citizens.
Also used in Poland, not very common overall, but, just as similarly sounding Samuel, it is getting more and more attention from parents. Last year (2017) the name Emanuel was given to 29 boys. Manuel and Emmanuel were also used last year, as well as Manuela for girls. Pronunciation is e-mah-NOO-el, but I've also heard it pronounced e-MAH-noo-el by Poles.
Emanuel is also the Slovak form of Emmanuel.
Also used in Croatia. [noted -ed]
Also commonly used in Portuguese, pronunciation:
ee-mahn-oo-EL (Portuguese).
Also used in Romania. [noted -ed]
