Elmer

Elmer is a main character of "Spoon River Anthology" by Edgar Lee Masters published in 1915. In the poem "The Hill" he is the first dead person cited:

Elmer is the name of the dorky kid with the boil on his face in the Fairly Odd Parents.

Elmer's Glue is the basic school glue. The product is so named because the mascot (a white bull) is named Elmer.
