According to Greek Mythology Elli was the granddaughter of Aiolos.
The name is also known from the Greek myth of "Frixos and Elli". So according to the myth Frixos and Elli were the children of Athamanda, king of Orchomenos, and Nefelis, ones of the Ocenis.
The name due to the myth is also associated with one of the strait known by the Greek mythology as Ellispondos, which took its name in order to honor the fallen princess Elli. [noted -ed]
