I love this name, the meaning is awesome, but I don't like Irene; it sounds so old to me. In Greek, this name is pronounced eh-REEN-ee (as I'm Greek Orthodox and hear this name all the time), and it sounds beautiful. I know from experience that no one will be able to pronounce it right (as my name is Eleni, no one can pronounce it or spell it). I might consider using it, but I'm not 100% because of the pronunciation.
Perfect choice for a name. What could be better than peace, love, and happiness. I also like the sound of it and I much prefer pronouncing it Ee'Reh'Neh, and using "Rene" as a little shorter version.

This is a very beautiful, serene name for a girl. I picture a girl with ivory skin, auburn hair and clear, bright green eyes, is soft spoken and a very strong leader. Definitely a great name!
This is a gorgeous name that I used as a middle name. I love it, and would love to see it used more often. I think it sounds classy, feminine, and even cute (pronounced as Eh Reh nee). It transcends all ages.
