Some people and their ideas of names are so stupid. "Eff off, Effie!" I mean come on, this is just funny and pathetic. Not sure what person named Effie would be offended by this. Sounds like a sh*tty script for an anti bullying movie.

Love! So retro and sweet. Also makes a good pet name.
I think this is a lovely name and I’m using it in a story I’m writing and she’s strong headed, funny, clever and a little sarcastic and I think the name suits that.
Effie is a wonderful vintage flare name! It can be short for Euphemia or sometimes Elisabeth. Even works for Ophelia! But personally I find it beautiful and whimsical on its own! Also mostly nobody even says “eff off” we just say “fu*k off” so don’t worry about that! Lovely lovely name!
My daughter is called Effie. It’s a beautiful old fashioned name with a quirky vintage feel. We’ve never had any issues with it being associated with a swear word but you could sit and twist any name to make it sound like something else so don’t let that put you off. If you love the name Effie, choose it :)

My favourite girl's name. My father had an Aunt named Effie and I've always thought it has a simple, vintage sounding charm to it.

"Effing hell!" is a common expression round where I am. Effie just makes me think of that.
I love this name - it's just unfortunate that it sounds like the "eff word". I wouldn't name my child this because I can see kids teasing her about "EFF you" and so on. Maybe they wouldn't, but I just wouldn't want to risk it. I absolutely love the name though. It looks and sounds beautiful.

I really like it, would probably use Effie as a nickname for Ethelyn.
My name is Stefanie and people have called me Effie all my life, I think it's really cute. :) I think that it's a much more original nickname than Stef or Steffie etc. Less predictable.
