In the Deuterocanonical Books of the Bible (known to Protestants as the "Apocrypha"), in the Book of Tobit, Edna is the wife of Raguel and the mother of Sarah (also spelled Sara). Sarah marries Tobias (Tobiah), the son of Tobit (for whom the Book of Tobit is named) and his wife Anna. Edna is my grandmother's name. She had always been told it was an old Germanic form of Anne.
Edna is the name of Noah's grandmother and also his great grandmother. Enoch in the Book of Enoch says his wife's name was Edna although in the Book of Jubilee it names her Edni. The Book of Jubilee names Methuselah's wife as Edna. Other sources name them both as Edna.
