Edmea Pirami (1899-1978) was a famous Italian pediatrician. She was the first woman to be elected to the 'Consiglio dell'Ordine dei Medici di Bologna' after the II° World War and then vice-president of 'Medical Women's International Association' (MWIA) for the Southern Europe in 1964.
