My second daughter is called Ebba. When I initially searched for the meaning, I liked the 'Queen of riches; fortress of riches; strong' meanings that I came across. It is a beautiful name with such a strong meaning. To all the Ebbas, may the name's meaning come true for all of you!

Also a nickname for Elizabeth. My great-grandmother had the name Elizabeth, and we called her Eb for short.

In some Swedish name books it says that this is a female form of the German male name Eberhard, which has the nick name Ebbe. [noted -ed]
