I recently met someone with this name, and another person’s first question was “Drake or Kendrick”. He seemed very annoyed by this.
I love this name because of Drake Carne from Poldark - however, I don't think I would use it in real life because people would probably think it was after the celebrities who bear/use the name (which couldn't be further from the truth).
I’m using Drake-Lynn Mae for a girl! I’m so excited and it’s super unique.
Prefer it as a middle name.
I can only think of Drake the rapper when I hear this name.
Drake is a cool name because it means "dragon". Also my bf's name is Drake so that is another reason I like the name Drake. Also Drake can be a male duck too.
My name is Drake and my uncle always calls me "Dwake." It's really annoying! Also, I think the meaning Dragon is better than the meaning Male Duck.
I think Drake would make a really cute and unique girl's name too. But I wouldn’t name a girl Drake unless I made her middle name feminine. I like Drake Alexandra and Drake Tiana. I like it for a boy too, and I actually think it’s better for a boy but it’s equally cute for a girl too, I think!
I think of a handsome, popular asshole when I hear this name.
I named my son "Drake Dee Emmanuel _____" I'm super proud of this name and a lot of people think it's brilliant because so many people have heard this awesome name but not many people have ever met somebody with this name!
It sounds low-class, and of course makes me think of two very annoying celebrities who have this name.
Drake is such a cool, hot name for a guy! The meaning "dragon" is so badass! I love this awesome name! :D.
I LOVE this name! Mainly because it means dragon (as you know, I'm milkweedDRAGON), but I didn't know it also meant male duck. It sounds nice to me, and it actually seems to be quite popular. I think it's better off meaning "Dragon".
This is my son's name and his name has never been referred to a "duck" only a Dragon or Drake the Vampire from the Blade movie. His middle name is Logan for those who need a good middle name. Kids at school LOVE his name and I do too.
I really like how this name looks and sounds, but I would never use it because of its meaning. I mean come on, a male duck! Who would want to be named after that? Yes, I know "Drake" is also derived from "dragon", but still it also means a male duck.
Drake seems a bit early 2000's - perhaps because I associate it with the television show Drake & Josh. It used to appeal to me more; though I don't adore it, I feel that it has a place to be used.
I've always liked the name Drake and although I don't know many people who go by this name, I think that just makes it more unique.
How did the term "dragon" come to be applied to a male duck?
Drake is a really great name! You can easily imagine a guy with this name to have a great sense of humour. :)
I like the name Drake since I grew up with it as my last name, but it is a bit odd meeting people who have it as a first name.
This name is awesome but it makes me think of ducks.
I don't even like this ugly name as a surname, much less as a first name. It sounds very harsh.
I named my son Drake and it suits him perfectly. I know one meaning is "male duck" but the meaning "dragon" makes it very very cool. I did have a hard time finding a good middle name to go with it.
This is a wonderful name and I hate that it means "male duck."
If you give your son this name, you better hope none of the bullies at school are animal lovers! Like he wouldn't be "Duck Boy" from the get go!
I love the name Drake, although I think it's way too hard to find a good middle name for it.
Quack, quack. Lol.
I think of a duck when I hear this name.
Though I like the name Drake I prefer it meaning "dragon" rather then "male duck". Personally I would rather my name mean "dragon" than "male duck".
