Deb

My mom is named Debra, and she was named after her Grandpa Deb, who died before she was born. I don't dislike Deb, I just prefer other diminutives of Debra and Deborah, like Debbie.

I like this name much better after I found out that in Moroccan Arabic and Berber, "dheb" means gold, and "dhebi" (pronounced like Debbie) means golden. It seems a lot of Deborahs and Debras don't like to be called Deb but I think it's nice to have a name that means gold.
