Davena

I am a trans woman at the beginning of my transition. I am considering feminine names, and would ideally like a name with strong links to my birth name, David. I am not keen on Davina or Davida, but Davena may work well, especially if the pronunciation places emphasis on the Dave part, as in Dave(ee) na. I like the sound of the name that way, but would dismiss it if it would be constantly mispronounced, as it will be hard enough being trans as it is. My current favourite feminine name is Sophie, followed by Judith. I will give Davena consideration, but will ultimately go with what feels right to me.

This is my FAVOURITE girls name of all time! I usually like all -eva and -ena names, but this is just so pretty. Nicknames could be Ena, Eva, Dava, Aven, or Davi.
