Also used in Ukraine. I know a Ukrainian girl named Darina. "Duh-ree-nuh" is how I pronounce it.
I think this name is rather pretty and beautiful. I love Russian and Ukrainian names. I like Slavic names and culture in general. In North America, I've never heard this name before until I met Darina at my high school.

My name is Darina and I love my name! When I was at school I got nickname Tangerine, so no one called me Darina but family only. Now I'm proud of my name! It means "gift" in Russian and "fire" in Persian.
