This isn't exactly the same, but in the Count of Monte Cristo, Edmond Dantes (the protagonist) has this as a surname. I assume that in the story, it is pronounced rather like the name Dante from which it seems to be derived.

Dante is the name of a female villain in the anime series 'Fullmetal Alchemist'. Nice show. However, I'm not sure whether or not her character appears in the original manga.
