Personally i think this name is very good. Im scared people will call me lameien though. People called Damien are not lame. I am cool.In conclusion your new born Damien may be called lameien (especially if their last name starts with an L )
Damien has to be the most badass name ever. It's so epic and I've never heard anyone in real life be called this and I've never had a classmate named Damien, so it's definitely not common. This name is definitely at the top of my list for when I have a son, even if it can't be his first name, it would still make a really awesome middle name. Also, I don't really understand why people spell it Damian, to me that spelling makes no sense, so this spelling is definitely better in my opinion.Edit: I realized that this spelling is actually pronounced differently than Damian, but I pronounce this like Damian and spell it as Damien.
Hello my name is Damien D. and I was named after a horror movie character named Damien Thorn. For some reason at school they sometimes mispronounced my name which they call me Damian with an a instead of an e- probably because it was difficult for them to write my name properly but at the end of the day there’s absolutely no big difference, so whenever they write Damian, it’s wrong. It’s supposed to be Damien.
I think it is a really powerful name to use. It brings happiness to some and it is a very unused name to the eye and I would really like to use it one day. I love that name.
A really awesome name, and this is the best spelling of it. I roll my eyes when I see ignorant people who seriously think it is evil, based on a stupid Hollywood movie from 40+ years ago. If that's the case, then I guess the name Michael should be shunned because of the Halloween movies. Or Jason, because of the Friday the 13th movies. And don't forget Freddy, since he was the murderous freak from A Nightmare on Elm Street. Get over it, people, and realize that movies aren't real. Thank goodness there are several smart people who posted here who actually get that, and who recognize a great name when they see it!

I think who ever says Damien is the worst name ever is a jerk.
Damien was a pretty common name for kids where I grew up. This name has loaded connotations for me, based on my previous experiences of people with this name.
If you name your son Damien or Cain, you support evil, bottom line. It doesn't matter if a movie made Damien synonymous with evil, if you were named after the movie, whoever named you is about as ignorant or evil as someone who names someone Hitler. Also, I saw Paradise Lost about Damien Echols on Amazon Prime which made him almost look innocent, but if you pay attention to how savvy he is and emotionless they are when sentenced and he is with his new son, you can believe they could do it and tell they knew they deserved what they got.
Damian is not the name of the devil, Lucifer is the name of the devil. The name Damian was just used as a name in a horror flick, just like the name Jason was but that never stopped the usage of the name Jason. I read somewhere that St. Damian was the patron saint of physicians.

This is my favorite spelling of my favorite name! :)
I have always been disappointed by the negative images and feelings that "The Omen" has applied to this name. I have a very good friend named Damien, and I hate it when people look at him weird and ask him if he's the son of Satan. I think this is a very nice name, and it's a shame that people feel like they have to hate it because of its use in a silly horror movie.
I have to say, despite this name's negative connotations (thanks to several sources, not least The Omen, it conjuers up images of evil), I still like it. Is that disturbing?
Im scared people will call me lameien though.

I am cool.
