Yes, *suke* in fact does mean 'assistance'. Sasuke can mean different things depending on the kanji used.From what I can tell, *sa* could mean 'difference', or 'help'. But I'm not a native Japanese speaker, nor do I know of any other kanji for *sa* and their meanings.
