It is presented that other versions of the name, by national origin, exist and attribute the version David as Biblical and Daud as Arabic. The David you attribute to the Bible is actually a translation from the original Biblos languages Greek and or Arameic and is not Biblical as such but European. Though the form Daud may be used in Arabic following the incorporation of Talmudic ancient writings into Islamic Koranic more modern scripture it does not make it Arabic. So this is confusing, misleading and wholly inappropriate.
