Usages: Ancient Greek (Latinized), English (Rare), African American
Meaning: Latinized form of Greek Κορινθία (Korinthia) meaning "woman from Corinth". Corinth was an ancient Greek city-state (see Corinth). Modern use of the name may be inspired by Saint Paul's epistles to the Corinthians in the New Testament. This is the real name of "Miss Corrie" Hogganbeck in William Faulkner's novel The Reivers (1962).
