Pretty biased, people named Colin tend to be gingers, the only Colins I have met are gingers, so that's a random stereotype. Decent name, wouldn't personally pick it but that's about it.
I feel like Colin is going to become a trendy boy name on a girl. Somebody might say “this can also be used as a female name”. I’m pretty sure anybody who would name their daughter Colin would give them a feminine middle name. Colin Alexandra is cute. Personally, I think boy names on girls are even more adorable when the young girl is actually very girly and not a tomboy at all and she has a middle name that’s ultra feminine and not unique for a girl. Just a heads up. I still like Colin better as a boy’s name, but every name is used on a girl.

This is my 10 y/o sons name. I chose Colin as I found it direct and masculine, yet refined and not brutish.
I love this name! I think it's most typically pronounced kah-lin, but cole-in is cool too (although I personally think if you want to use that pronunciation you should spell it Cullen) anyways, this is an awesome, classic name that sounds great and will age well on the bearer :)
