Clark Gable and Clark Kent. How could you go wrong naming your son Clark?

I love this name a lot. It reminds me of Superman, an inspiring, heroic character who always does the right thing, despite how much the recent movies try to prove otherwise.
I really like this name a lot. It sounds intelligent and great as a first name.

Interesting first name. I wouldn't mind meeting someone with this name, but I wouldn't use it. It's definitely unique though, but not too weird or uncommon.
Sounds a little pretentious, as sometimes happens when popular surnames are turned into first names. But pop culture has done a lot to swank it up with movie stars and superheros. I think it would be a great middle name for a boy or girl. Mixed feelings about using it as a first name, though.
My name is Clark and my middle name is Maynard. I'm a female. I think it's original for a girl to be named Clark. I usually go by the name Clarkie to make it sound more feminine. I'm very proud of my name.
Sounds a bit old and stale in modern times, but I still like it. It's an old family name of mine (of most people with English ancestry at some point, probably---I see it EVERYWHERE in people's badly researched medieval family trees, it was a common surname), and I do like it, but there's something about it that I don't like, at the same time.

I like that Clark means "scholar" because I have put a high emphasis on education in my home. When my friend found out we were naming our son Clark, she said it was a nerd's name, but that nerds make good husbands. The Clarks I have known of were hardly nerds though. Clark Kent was Superman, Clark Gable a movie star, and my own very handsome and wonderful grandfather (who was also a wonderful husband to my grandmother) was a Clark and is my son's namesake. Donny Osmond's name happens to be Donald Clark Osmond, and he also was named after Clark Alexander Mickelson, the wonderful grandfather I mentioned above.
