Chloe = Clo Chloë = Ch-lowey Chloe just sounds like clo, very very highly irritates me when people spell it wrong way to how they say it. Same goes for Esme and Zoe. Esme on it's own is EZZ ME wheareas how your probably hear it is Esmë. Zoe sounds like Zo. For it to sound like ZO EEE then it's Zoë.
Actually, even WITH the Diaeresis, the name is still pronounced Chlo-ee. The Diaeresis only stresses the 'e' even more. I have a second cousin named Chloe', and people often call her klo-ay, because of the Diaeresis. I have a friend who is a college English professor, and even she agrees that the Diaeresis stresses the 'e' more, ergo, not making the name pronounced klo-ay. It's still chlo-ee.
