It sounds like the word jester. (/ref)
I don't want my child associated with a man who abandoned his wife, children, family, bandmates and fans just for a selfish goal, terrible.
I have always thought of Chester as a handsome, attractive name; I wouldn't mind being called Chester myself.
Reminds me of an old man.
I actually love this name and think it is really nice. It is short and has a sweet sound. The nicknames Ches, Chaz, and Chet are nice and it also makes me think of Chester Bennington of Linkin Park (rip).
Total cat name. ♥ Chester we are thinking of you : )
I always really liked the name Chester. It sounds unique and cute. The first time I ever heard it was in The Fairly Odd Parents (It was the name of one of Timmy’s best friends). When I found out that character’s name, little me was like “Huh. That’s a nice name.” And when I learned who Chester Bennington was, I loved the name even more. (RIP, Chester). I’m a HUGE Linkin Park fan. Chester is a neat name. It’s actually one of my favorite male names ever.
Sounds like a name for a cat.
Honestly as a Linkin Park fan, I really like this name. Though there’s better names out there.
It’s one of those “country” names that aren’t appealing at all.
Chester the molester.
One of the most redneck-sounding names out there. I can barely picture someone saying it without a southern accent. Then there's the unfortunate fact that anyone with this name WILL be teased and called "Chester the Molester" by mean people. A big no to this particular name.
It's a great name, very 19th century American more than English even. Nickname of Chet is great too. Chet Baker and Howling Wolf was actually named Chester Burnett. Masculine and not too popular but also still classic.
I didn't care for the name initially but as a Linkin Park fan, a depression/anxiety sufferer and a mental healthcare nursing asst., I have grown fond of the name. I think it reflects a hidden strength and I would hope that my son would "scream like a demon, sing like an angel" just like the namesake.
I've always thought this name sounded dorky.
I like this name! It was my grandfather's name, I may consider using it for a middle name if I ever have a son. Maybe Calvin Chester or Jonah Chester.
Good name for an animal, not a person, if your child is named this he will without a doubt be given the nickname Chester the molester. This is my father's name and I always hated introducing him to people because of his name, he was also always the odd one out in my family because everyone else has an Italian name.
Weird name.
If you name your son Chester, everyone will call him, "Chester the Molester."
I had a dog named Chester. I sometimes called him Chetty or Chetter Cheese.
A very sweet name! :3.
My name book calls this a "comfortable, little-used teddy bear of a name". I like it, but I think of chestnuts when I hear it, and I associate it with the main character, a cricket, in The Cricket in Times Square by George Selden (good book, btw).
The name Chester was given to 70 baby boys born in the US in 2012. I think it's an adorable name for a cat : )
This name reminds me of a chipmunk. But aside from that, I do agree that problems and mockery may arise from the fact that it sounds like "molester." From a kid who was mercilessly taunted and ridiculed for her name all while growing up, I suggest a nickname once little Chester starts school.
I love this name, aside from the fact that he will be called "Chester the molester" his whole life.
Haha, I've always thought this name was really cute! A guy with red hair and freckles comes to mind. XD So because of that I'm using this as a name of one of my characters in my book series. =)
A unique name. Not one of my favorites, and generally masculine. It's quirky and semiformal sounding.
This name always makes me think of a chihuahua. Must be the result of actually having watched The Nanny back in the 90s. Chester was a cute dog in the show. O curse, chestnuts also come to mind. This name sounds a bit cutesy and boyish to me somehow.
Strange. It reminds me of an English king. Chester.
So cute, especially for a cat.
