Meaning & History
From the name of the American town of Chenoa, Illinois. The word Chenoa (or Chenoka) is probably one of many Native American names for the Kentucky River, and it was chosen by the city founder as a reference to his native state of Kentucky. Contrary to popular belief, Chenoa is not a Cherokee word meaning "white dove". In Spain, it has been popularized by singer Laura Corradini (1975-), artisticly known as Chenoa.
