Meaning & History

Derived from Greek χαρις (charis) meaning "grace, kindness". This name can be viewed as a feminine equivalent of Chariton. This was the name of an early Christian martyr from Amisus, a city in Pontus in modern-day Turkey, also known as Saint Charitina.
