I like the name Cecile. It's my middle name and I've always liked it. I used to want it to be my first name. Also I knew a girl by the name Cecile and she was so nice and a really good person.

This is my name. I am American, so I think the usage also extends to the US, although it is rare. In my opinion, it would be better to give your baby a name that people are more familiar with, such as Cecilia or Celia. There is also the matter of nicknames. I have sometimes been called Ceil (pronounced like seal). In order to avoid the "seal" association, my parents decided on the nickname Sally, which really confuses people. Also, even though it is not my name, people sometimes think it's funny to sing the song "Cecilia, you're breaking my heart..."
