One of the very few truly unisex names. (no, Riley, Taylor, and Morgan don't count) In my opinion, Cary and Carey are the best spellings for boys, and my favorite for girls is Carrie. It can be handsome and manly and delicate and feminine at the same time, depending on the spelling. A fantastic name :)

It's too bad this name has fallen out of usage for males.
I have a (guy) friend named Cary, and I used to laugh every time I said his name. (It just sounded so girly!) And it was even funnier because Cary is this really big guy and his name is CARY! haha. Though now I've grown used to it, and I love it now! I now see it as a guy name instead of a girls.
I know an elderly man with this name. He warned me not to name my son this because he was called "Cary the fairy" in school because the name sounds very feminine, and it would be a cruel thing to do to a child. Now, instead the name reminds me of a loud, rude, egotistical old man who drinks too much. I would never use it for a boy or a girl. No offense to any other Carys!

I like this name, it sounds a lot like "caring". Though I think it sounds more like a girl's name, this spelling looks more masculine.
