This is a perfectly fine gender neutral name. Why are people insisting that it should only be considered a feminine name?
In 2018, 6 is the most common age for an American (U.S.) Camille who is registered female with the Social Security Administration. It is the 801st most common female first name for living U.S. citizens.
My name is Camille, and I thought it was a lovely name for myself, and I still think it's perfect. I love my name, always have, at school the kids used to call me camel, this went on for years, I still love my name, and if someone ever calls me that again, I just curse them.
Like many French names, Camille is used quite often in English-speaking countries. But in English it's a female name only. [noted -ed]
