Comments (Usage Only)

The National Records of Scotland have a name searcher for names where one can choose one of the gender options or both to compare usage. The usage seems to be more masculine as of recent, but has been used as a feminine name as well for decades (https://scotland.shinyapps.io/nrs-baby-names/). From 86' to 2001 the name seems to have been used/seen as unisex, but from then onward became more popular as a masculine name. Some people are still using it as a feminine name, though, as the govt info shows.
The name Brodie was given to 303 boys born in the US in 2016.
I have only ever seen Brodie used for girls, while the spelling Brody is used for boys.
My mistake; I have since met two baby boys called Brodie.
