Saint Bronach is a Saint from Rostrevor County Down. Her name is sometimes spelt Bronagh Brona or Bronach. She was the abbess of a convent of nuns in the Rostrevor area. She had a bell that she would ring I think for the boats on Carlingford Lough on foggy nights to alert them safely to shore. A legend says that when Saint Bronach was killed by Vikings who robbed the convent the place where she died is what is now called Saint Bronach's Well in the old Kilbroney Graveyard.
