Princess Birgitta of Sweden, Princess of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen (Birgitta Ingeborg Alice) (born January 19, 1937) is a sister of King Carl XVI Gustaf. She was born at Haga Palace in Sweden.

St Birgitta is not, as mentioned, the patron saint of Sweden, that title is held by Saint Erik, but rather she is the patron saint of Europe. Still she's the only properly canonized saint from Sweden. [noted -ed]
