I heard this on a baby a few years ago and our first reaction was this is the most awful name we’d ever heard. I’ve heard it a few times since then and came around a bit. I still wouldn’t name a child this.

I love this name, but I do agree that it is super childish. It is super cute on a baby, toddler, or elementary school child, but once they are a teenager, I bet they wont appreciate you naming them Birdie.
I'm writing a character nicknamed Birdie and despite it being quite old fashioned and a little funny, I think it fits her, and it's a cute name. (Maybe for the 1800s, but regardless)
Really old-fashioned and childish at the same time.

Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only one who likes Birdie. It's a little corny, but I am not averse to corniness in names. I do picture a grandmother from the deep south. She makes quilts and watches her grandkids catch fireflies from her back porch and has a killer peach cobbler recipe. I also think of "Birdie" from Avril Lavigne's newest album. Yes, I like Avril Lavigne.
Looks like a really rare name, probably few people have it, something like almost a century ago, but it is really sweet and not bad, no. I like this name. Sweet Birdie. Actually, really nice name! Why not.
Birdie is one of my absolute favorite names for a girl! I think it's super sweet, pure, innocent and simply melodic. Jessica Simpson named her daughter Birdie Mae, and she is just overwhelmingly adorable! I love Birdie for a name.
Call me crazy, but I actually really, really love this name. It's cute without being too over-the-top. Would definitely consider using it when I'm older.
