Billy Bunter is a greedy, overweight, lazy, duplicitous, and priggish fictional English schoolboy attending the equally fictional Greyfriars School. Created by Frank Richards, he appeared from 1908-40 in a boys' magazine called "The Magnet" and is an iconic story book figure in Britain, featuring in several books by Richards and in a television series. Billy's sister, equally overweight and addicted to food, is called Bessie Bunter.
