Audra is a really pretty name. Audrey is one of my favorite names, so I automatically love its unique cousin. I’ve never met anyone named Audra! Plus, I love the “dra” ending.
I named my daughter Audra Grace, also Audra Jean sometimes ha, in 2012! I named her Audra because every night I would be reading and watching Three's Company, and Mrs Roper always made me laugh so hard. The night before I found out what I was having, I just happened to notice the name on the tv and was like yep that's my baby's name. It fits her so well. Her German grandma does pronounce it differently (Ow-dra) but we love it!
Audra is such a lovely, underappreciated name. It sounds soft and comforting, yet strong at the same time. I also like that it means "storm" in Lithuanian. Would love to see it make a comeback!
I never liked being named Audra growing up and it has never sounded like a real name to me. Maybe it’s because I’ve never known anyone else with my name and it is so rare. My mom named me after Linda Evan’s character, Audra, on the show, The Big Valley, because she thought she was beautiful and she loved the name. I do, however, get lots of compliments on my name and people usually comment on how pretty it is. Now that I’m older, I can’t say that I’m absolutely in love with it, but I do appreciate it and like that my name is so unique and it has a good nickname, Aud. Also, I love the meaning of my name which means “noble strength”.
I have grown to love my name. My mom put 12 names in a hat and my Dad put 1 and my 19 month old sister picked it out. Dad's 1 won and he got it from the Western series The Big Valley. I have grown to appreciate it. Nice it’s different.
I'm an Audra. I was born in the 70's and the television series "The Big Valley" was in syndication when I was born. Linda Evans was the beautiful, young starlet on the show. My parents couldn't agree on a name until the show was playing on the hospital television. They both loved the name instantly because it was beautiful and unique. I liked my name growing up. I've received many compliments on my name my entire life and continue to. I've two friends that named their daughters Audra because they loved my name growing up. I liked it, it was unique and I wasn't too bothered by people mispronouncing it regularly as I was used to it. My family, friends and classmates called me Aud or Audie for short. The only downfall was never finding merchandise with my name on it so I'd have to purchase my middle name instead. It's far easier to purchase Audra merchandise today. I've only met a handful of Audra's in my life, but always felt an instant bond when meeting another fellow Audra. I like that it's still an uncommon and unique name.
My name is Audra, after my mom had me in the hospital she lay there in the bed and watched the TV show The Big Valley and that is how she came up with my name. As a child I didn't like it because it wasn't very common, you could never find your name on anything. Now that I am an adult I of course like my name because it is very unique and still not very common and I do get a lot of compliments. My name means nobility, strength, very strong and it is simply a very classy name it doesn't sound childish or immature. I am very proud to have been named Audra. My nickname was Audi. When I introduce myself as Audra, lots of people say hi Audrey I don't make a big deal of it though because it wouldn't be very classy. I am however amazed that people don't pay attention. I don't stutter, I don't have a speech impediment, so I just go with the flow.
This is my name, and I love it :) I've had teachers mispronounce it, but I never minded. One teacher called me "Aud," but I thought it was cute. My parents named me after the character Audra from the western TV show Big Valley. I get compliments on my name a LOT, I don't think you get that very often with other names.
My best friend's name is Audra, and I love the name. I think it is a beautiful name and not many people have it. I would love it if my name were Audra.
My name is Audra. When I was little I hated it because I could never find my name on the little souvineer thingies that you would get in gift shops. It drove me nuts! Now I love it! I think it's great that I have a name that isn't as popular and used. I think it would be annoying if there were 7 other Audra's in my school! Audra is a beautiful name, it "flows" in a nice way and I really love it! It is a little irritating though when my mom calls me "Aud". There aren't many nicknames for Audra. =)
For some reason I dislike this name, while I do like Audrey. Does anyone know how the Lithuanian version is pronounced?

This is a pretty name. I think it's much nicer than Audrey and not nearly as trendy or popular. Audra has a lovely, slightly Southern flair (I mean US Southern) to me for some reason.

This is my real name, and I've never really liked it because a lot of people have trouble with pronouncing it. (I get "Andrea," "Audrey," and a whole bunch of other names, which becomes annoying.) Plus, there aren't a lot of nicknames apart from Aud (which sounds like "odd" and is not very encouraging.) Not one of my favourite names.
