Good grief! Astor is a surname and only a surname.

To me Astor sounds a bit like Esther.

This name sounds old fashioned to me, but I like the name 'Aster' (as in the flower that means 'star') for girls.

Nice name, nice meaning... but it sounds like "ass-tor," which I couldn't deal with.

I've only ever heard Astor used as a feminine name. I think it's good on both sexes, but I find it a little more feminine sounding.

I'd never come across this name before this site, but I love it. It's a shame it's so close to Aster, which means it would probably sound feminine to most people's ears. Nonetheless, a very kingly name.
