Arnold "Arnie" Roth, lifelong friend of Steve Rogers (Captain America) in Marvel Comics. As a child growing up in Brooklyn, Arnie stood up for his smaller and weaker friend. Arnie also went on to serve with distinction in the United States Navy during World War II. Introduced in 1982, he is notable for being one of the first openly gay characters in the Marvel Universe.
