I was named Armida after an aunt who died in infancy. She was my father's baby sister. My heritage is Mexican and the other Armida's that I have met (4 or 5) were also Mexican. The middle syllable was stressed...Ar MEE da. I assumed it was of Roman origin via the various Italian Opera connections and the Roman Catholic Church. Most Mexican people are Catholic. I like the name my father gave me.
My name is Armida I was born in the 90s. Growing up I had a tough time accepting my name because everyone else had more common normal names in school. However, I grew to appreciate my name in my teen years because it made me unique amongst the rest of the class. When I entered the work force many adults loved my name and I get compliments all the time. I love my name. My mom also has the same name. We pronounce it AR - Mee - Duh. Nicknames I've had Mida or Armi. Mimi is also a cute option. I'm grateful I have such a unique name.
My name is Armida. I love my name because it's different.
Never seen this name until now. It's very pretty. Makes me think of a beautiful Spanish woman.
