In the Netherlands - and in Germany as well - Ariane isn't pronounced a-ree-AN but like [ah-ree-AH-nay].

The first commenter (-- Anonymous User 4/13/2007) was right about the pronunciation, at least that's how King Willem-Alexander has pronounced his daughters name on tv multiple times. So that's how the Dutch Royal family pronounces it. I personally (as a native Dutch person) would pronounce Ariane as Lucille said, like ah-ree-AH-nə. This sounds more feminine to me.
