I believe that this is not related to Aoibhinn and Aoibheann (which are EE-ven).Aoibhín is EE-veen and my guess is that it's a diminutive of Aoibh (Eve) just as Róisín is a diminutive of Róise. [noted -ed]

Aoibhín isn't a variant of Aoibheann. It's a diminitive of Aoibhe. It means "little Aoibhe", while Aoibheann means "beautiful sheen". -ín is a dimintive suffix in Irish, like -y in English.
