Antonine Maillet (born in 1929) is a Canadian novelist, playwrigt and scholar from Bouctouche, New Brunswick. Her literary work focuses on the history and folkore of the Acadian people. In 1979 her work Pélagie-la-Charrette won the Prix Goncourt, making her the first non-European recipient.
