My youngest is named Anja, and sadly the other commenter was correct about English pronunciation rules/lack thereof. Such a beautiful name! But hacked to bits. Of course, no one here speaks Scandic/Germanic languages, so if you're in America and are thinking about Anja, consider Anya or Ania.
