Angus Og was the son of Somerled and was the father of the clan MacDonald. Being a MacDonald the name Angus has been in my family for hundreds of years. My middle name is Angus. I don't think anybody thought it was a nice name but it has so much history and meaning it was carried down by the clan.

In response to jasmineenimsaj and the anonymous user, "Angus" has nothing to do with beef and it is not meant to sound like "anus"; Angus is from the Irish/Scottish name "Aonghus", which means "one strength". And in Irish mythology, Aonghus was the god of love, youth, and beauty.
